I thought Into the Wild was an interesting story that kept me on the edge of my seat when I read it. This is worth reading because it shows how some people, like Chris, are adventurous and risk their lives to have fun and explore different places. This story proves a point that life is worth having fun and doing what they want but it may lead to serious consequences like death. Chris's life was defiantly an adventurous life and fun to live. I think if I had a chance to be him, I would have never ditched my car so I would not have to hitch hike all the time.
I think Chris is a smart, young man that was bored of a normal lifestyle and just wanted to seek adventure and something new. I do not agree with the people who criticize Chris because Chris was smart and he actually tried to come back home with his family but he couldn't because unfortunately, he died. I would love to travel around North America like he did but its not worth it to die like him. There are just too many risks and dangers traveling into the wild.

Assignment #4
The book and movie "Into the Wild" are a little bit different but share some similarities and differences. One thing that has changed from the story and the movie is that there is nothing about Jon Krakauer in the movie. Another thing that is deferent from the book is when he gets rides from people that they do not mention in the book. Another thing that was in the movie that was not in the book was when Chris got beat up by the guy on the train because he was riding on it. McCandless works in McDonalds in the book, but in the movie he works at Burger King.
The images from the movie that have the most impact on my are the pictures of the mountains because the mountains are so beautiful. Another image that impacts me is when Chris's parents want to buy him a new car and he looks at his old one and says that he doesn't want a new car. Another image that is interesting is when Chris is trying to get the meat out of the moose he killed and the flies are all around it. It seems freaky because there was so many flies. Another scene that is intense is when he was about to cross the river but realized that he couldn't. It gets intense when he falls in the river but fortunately gets out.
The things that the movie make more clear to me are that when Galien dropped Chris off near the abandoned bus because it shows Galien giving Chris the boots for his feet to stay dry. Another way the movie makes more sense to me is when Chris writes the letters to the people that he met. This makes me understand those parts more because in the background, he is writing the letters and it shows up on the screen. When Chris explains his belt that he carved images into to Franz, that helped me understand that part a little bit more because it is like a timeline.
How does the film improve on the book?
The movie improves the book by explaining what happens in the story and it clears things up that are hard to comprehend from the book.

The book is superior in my opinion because it is based off Chris McCandless's diary from his journey going to Alaska.

Leather Belt
If i were like Chris McCandless and carved things into a belt, they would be a little different than what he had. The first thing i would have carved into a belt would be a picture of a deer to symbolize animals. I would carve a deer because you can hunt them and kill them for food to survive. The second item i would have a symbol of is a backpack. I would do this because you can put all your clothes and belongings in your backpack when you are hiking and exploring the world. Chris carried around a backpack with him in his adventure to hold all of his things in it. The third thing i would have carved into a belt would be a picture of a gun because a gun will help you survive in a way. It can help you survive because you can kill animals with it and eat them so you do not starve to death. I would also carve a picture of a house to symbolize shelter because i would need to find a shelter to survive. The fifth thing i would have carved in the belt would be a picture of a couple of people symbolizing a family to never forget about them. A family is something important to have because they help you with everything. I would also carve a picture of God to know always remember that he is on my side and helping me throughout my adventure to keep me safe. The seventh thing i would carve into my belt would be a picture of clothes because they keep you warm when you are in Alaska and other places. If you do not have clothes when you are in a cold place, you can easily die of hypothermia. The last thing i would carve into a belt would be the sun to symbolize warmth when i would be in Alaska. I would not want to freeze to death.

About Nature
Nature, in my opinion, is a beautiful creation of God. Nature is made up of the trees, land, grass, and animals. When nature comes to my mind, I picture a rain forest that is filled with tons of trees and animals making beautiful sounds. The natural world effects the every day life of most people because many people start off the day extremely well if it is a nice day out when the sun is shining. People may start out with a bad day if it is gloomy and not sunny outside. I have experienced many bad things and some positive things from nature. I have experienced bad things when i got bit by spiders and other bugs. I have benefited from nature when i have a great day from the perfect weather and when it is sunny outside.
